The family of a Warwickshire girl struck with a ‘mystery illness’ is now raising funds for specialist medical treatment. Sofia Wilcox, aged three, began suffering from health issues when she was just two months old.

Mum Danielle Creed, 33, said her daughter Sofia would vomit in her sleep ‘every night’, cough excessively and struggled to breathe. Danielle rushed her daughter to the GP, but they diagnosed the tot with asthma and gave her inhalers to help curb her breathing problems.

But Sofia’s condition only worsened. The toddler was prescribed antibiotics regularly to control her fevers, and doctors were left scratching their heads as to why the child’s condition was not improving.

Danielle said she took Sofia to the GP at least ‘200 times’ over the past three years in a desperate bid to get her daughter diagnosed. But she said doctors still could not find what the root of the problem was.

She continued: “My daughter was ill every single week. I’ve taken her to the GP at least 200 times in the past three years.
